A Mumbai-Singapore flight of Singapore Airlines landed safely on Tuesday morning, after the pilot raised a bomb threat alert, the Straits Times reported, adding that it understands the threat turned out to be a hoax.

The plane is a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft with 263 passengers on board. It was escorted safely to Changi Airport by Singapore's air force and touched down at about 8:00 a.m. local time on Tuesday, according to the report.

A woman and a child on board were held for questioning by the police, who are investigating the incident. Other passengers disembarked and could leave after security screening.

The Staits Times quoted a spokesman of Singapore Airlines as saying that there was a bomb threat concerning the flight, and the airline company is assisting the authorities with their investigations.

It also reported that the airline had received a call after the plane left Mumbai's airport on Monday at about 11:35 p.m. local time, and the caller claimed that there was a bomb on the plane.
