A 21-year-old Chinese student living in New York City has gone missing for four days, and police are searching for him, local media reported on Friday.
Gao Ruoyang, a student at Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology, has not returned to his dormitory in the Queens borough since he left there at midnight on March 31, according to local Chinese language newspaper The China Press.
Gao was wearing a grey down jacket and only carried with him a bag and a cellphone, according to his sister Christy Gao, who met with her brother in New York two days before he went missing.
The last message Gao's family received from him was a location he shared with his mother through the Chinese social networking app WeChat on April 1, which showed he was at Montauk in Long Island of New York State, some 180 km east of his Queens residence.
Gao's family has reported his missing to local police, while the Chinese Consulate General in New York has met with his sister, and is assisting the police investigation. Enditem
