China has 10,600 social workers devoted to the protection of minors, an official of the Communist Youth League of China (CYLC) said Monday.
A 12355 hotline and a namesake online platform, backed by nearly 7,000 legal and psychological experts, were also put in place to help minors, said Wang Feng, head of the youth rights and interests division of the CYCL.
Briefing a press conference, Wang said the CYLC was working closely with the National People's Congress to promote revision to laws on the protection of minors and the prevention of juvenile delinquency.
It has also participated in various inter-agency campaigns to safeguard the interests of children and youth, according to Wang.
