Sixteen teams from China and abroad will participate in the China (Shanghai) International Youth Football Invitational 2019 which is scheduled to take place in Shanghai from July 8 to 14.
Launched in 2015 as part of China's bid to become a soccer powerhouse by 2050, the annual tournament comprises six international teams and 10 local teams.
Co-hosted by the Ministry of Education, the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, 32 matches will take place at local high schools during the competition period.
The opening ceremony will be held at Cao Yang No 2 High School while the closing ceremony will be at Junior Middle School of No 2 High School Affiliated to East China Normal University.
