China swept all the three diving titles here at Mostra d'Oltremare on Saturday and claimed their first shooting gold at 2019 Napoli Unversiade.

The 22-year-old senior student Wu Chunting from Guangzhou Sports University kept collecting medals for three straight match days. With a silver in women's 1m springboard on Thursday and a gold in mixed 3m synchronized springboard on Friday, she clinched another gold by finishing 351.85 in women's 3m springboard.

Reviewing the shows in the past few days, Wu said her biggest opponent was herself and she got more experience here.

"I had some mistakes in the first match day perhaps I was dreaming about the gold too much," said Wu. "I know what the problem is and now I've become much better."

Wu told Xinhua she hopes to continue her education to pursue a master degree. "Hopefully I'll have the chance to attend the 2021 Chengdu Universiade in China."

The Chinese shooters claimed their first shooting gold in the men's 10m air rifle team competition. Wang Yuefeng, Zhang Chaoxuanzhu from Tsinghua University and Kang Zhengguo from Hebei Sport University won the first place with 1,869.4 points.

Kang also fought into the final but he had a bad shot with only 8.6, quitting the medal contest as the sixth.

Dong Zhi, manager of Chinese shooting team, told Xinhua that the team gold did not come in an easy way.

"Our luggage, including daily used items and rifles for training and competition, did not arrive in time," explained Dong, "there were some problems during the bag-checking in the airport. Some of the luggage were found in the lost and found, and there is still one package missing."

According to Wang, they did not have chance to prepare and they had to borrow things from each other to finish the competition.

Elsewhere, the Chinese men's basketball suffered the third loss at Napoli to the United States 99-70.

On the football pitch, the Chinese women's team was edged by Russia 1-0.

The Chinese women's volleyball team defeated Ukraine 3-1. They lost the first set 25-22 and then overturned the game with 25-17, 25-8 and 27-17.
