The Russian Armed Forces have spotted 28 foreign aircraft conducting reconnaissance activities near Russian airspace over the past week, the Russian military's newspaper Krasnaya Zvezda reported on Friday.
There were no trespasses into Russian airspace, said the paper.
Russian jets scrambled six times over the past week to prevent the foreign planes from entering Russian airspace, it said.
Foreign spy planes have often been reported flying near the Russian border. Russia frequently accuses the United States and the NATO of conducting such surveillance activities.
