Electricity is back on for more than 24,000 households who suffered temporary power outage due to the 5.4-magnitude earthquake in southwest China's Sichuan Province Sunday, local authorities said.
As of 9 p.m. Sunday, 4,781 people had been dispatched for rescue work, medical aid, firefighting, order maintenance, power restoration and traffic control to Weiyuan County, Neijiang City.
A total of 4,000 cotton quilts, 220 tents and 200 emergency kits had been allocated to the quake-hit areas by the provincial and municipal emergency management authorities as well as the local Red Cross Society.
The quake jolted Weiyuan at 6:42 a.m. Sunday, and had killed one person and injured 63 others.
