Chinese animated film "The Legend of Hei" continued to lead the Chinese mainland box office on Sunday, the second day after its opening, the China Movie Data Information Network said Monday.
"The Legend of Hei" is a feature-length film based on a web cartoon series titled "The Legend of Luo Xiaohei" which tells the story of a supernatural black cat and the human family it lives with.
The film raked in 37.33 million yuan (about 5.27 million U.S. dollars), accounting for around 35.5 percent of the daily total.
Coming in second was "Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw," which grossed 23.25 million yuan on Sunday.
Chinese animated film "Ne Zha" ranked third by raking in 20.79 million yuan on its 45th day of screening.
