China saw orderly traffic flow when millions of people took trips for family reunions or sightseeing during the three-day Mid-Autumn Festival holiday starting Friday, the Ministry of Public Security said Sunday.
Around 180,000 police officers were deployed and some 50,000 police vehicles were dispatched per day to maintain traffic order nationwide during the holiday, according to the traffic management bureau under the ministry.
Latest road traffic information and alerts were aired through social media platforms, including Weibo and Wechat, and at expressway service areas and bus terminals to ensure orderly traffic flow.
As of 5 p.m. Sunday, no traffic accidents involving more than five deaths were reported during the holiday, the bureau said.
