More than 600 literati and artists provided volunteer services for over 200,000 people across China in 2018, said a statement from the China Literary and Art Volunteers' Association (CLAVA) Thursday.
The CLAVA, along with the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, also launched a special campaign to send out volunteers to impoverished areas to promote literature and art last year, according to the statement.
The volunteer services include entertainment shows, training programs, tutoring and lectures in music, dancing, calligraphy, painting and photography among others.
Feng Gong, the CLAVA's chairman, said that the literati and artists should not only earn respect from their artistic works but also their personality and noble spirit.
