Taiwan-invested companies and businesspeople have pledged donations to assist those affected by the novel coronavirus in the mainland.
As of Jan 29, the Taiwan Enterprise Association of Guangzhou has raised donations worth more than 400,000 yuan ($57,657) to help fight against the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, according to sources with the association.
Wang Ching-Hsiang, chairman of the association, called for more donations from companies and businessmen in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province, after donating 5,000 pairs of goggles to hospitals in Guangzhou and Wuhan, the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak.
Wang is also coordinating his company, which is mainly engaged in manufacturing safety goggles, to make the utmost effort to produce goggles for medical use.
