An Iranian health official on Friday confirmed the infection of 13 people to the coronavirus illness, named COVID-19, in the country.
Kianush Jahanpur, head of Public Relations and Information Center of Ministry of Health and Medical Education, said that according to the latest laboratory tests, 13 people in Iran have been tested COVID-19 positive.
"Seven of them are from Iran's central Qom city, four from Tehran and two others from Iran's northern Rasht city," Jahanpur tweeted.
Iran on Wednesday confirmed the death of two people due to the illness.
