China's manufacturing hub Guangdong Province has launched a phone code to facilitate health checks as more employees return to work from other provinces, according to local authorities.
The code integrates personal health information gathered from multiple means such as self-declarations, cross-province registration, and health checks in public places, according to the provincial administrative data management bureau.
Each scan of the code creates a new activity record that can be used for further analysis and prevention.
The province has also set up a mechanism for sharing health information with other provinces where many migrant workers come from, the bureau said.
