China's men's national football team has adopted strict measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus at its training camp in Dubai, an insider said on Thursday.
All players and coaching staff are required to wear face masks on their way to the training pitches or their hotel, and have their body temperature checked every day by team doctors, according to a team source.
"Our activities are confined to the hotel, the training pitches and the bus transporting us between these two places," the source told Xinhua. "This is a closed area and nobody is allowed to step out of it."
The 25-player training camp, which started on Wednesday, comes in advance of China's next two World Cup qualifiers against the Maldives and Guam.
These two matches are scheduled to take place on March 26 and 31 respectively behind closed doors in Buriram, Thailand. However, due to the escalating spread of coronavirus in Thailand, the source added that these matches are likely to be postponed.
"They could be put off until June or September. That's up to the parties concerned to decide," the source said.
China currently sits second of five times in AFC qualifying Group A with seven points from four games, eight points behind group leaders Syria.
