Niger's Ministry of Public Health announced on Thursday the first confirmed case of COVID-19 in the country.
The patient is a 36-year-old Niger citizen who had recently traveled to Togo, Ghana, Cote d'Ivoire and Burkina Faso, according to the ministry's press release.
According to the ministry, the patient has already been taken care of by "the competent services" and "his state of health is stable."
