Some Spring Festival kits containing face masks, traditional Chinese snacks and Spring Festival Couplets were given to overseas Chinese online by the Chinese Consulate-General in Japan's Osaka on Monday.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the distribution ceremony was held online this year, with representatives from main overseas Chinese delegations and students' associations attending the ceremony.
Zhang Yuping, Acting Consul General of Chinese Consulate-General in Osaka, reviewed the fight against the coronavirus outbreak in the past year and called on overseas Chinese to continue to prevent the pandemic and enjoy a peaceful Spring Festival in the country.
"The overseas compatriots will stand firmly with the motherland at any time to overcome difficulties," said Lin Quannan, Chairman of Ehime Overseas Chinese Federation in Japan.
According to He Lingqing, President of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Kansai, the care and support of the motherland have further enhanced the confidence of overseas Chinese businessmen to tide over difficulties and achieve better development.
Wang Qi, Chairman of the Chinese Students' Association in Osaka, said overseas students always feel the warm care of the motherland. "Needle and thread in doting mother's hand, turn out garments for her son out to roam the land," he quoted a Chinese poem.
