China aims to generally eliminate double packaging for e-commerce express deliveries and intensify its application of recyclable express packages to 100 million by 2025, the National Development and Reform Commission said during a recyclable economy development program on Wednesday.
The commission encourages packaging producers, e-commerce firms and delivery service providers to set up industry coalitions, and supports establishing a qualified supplier system of express packaging so as to promote production enterprises to consciously carry out packaging reduction. A green packaging product qualified system for express delivery will be applied, the commission added.
The commission said it will intensify efforts to promote the use of green recycling and sharing standardized turnover boxes. Recycle sites for recyclable express packages are also encouraged.
