Loss of trust makes multilateral action and international cooperation very difficult, said United Nations (UN) Secretary-General Antonio Guterres recently.
In an interview with French newspaper "Le Monde," Guterres said the loss of trust on a global scale is caused by "growing inequalities."
Thus, strengthening the fragile international cooperation mechanism will be one of the pillars of his second term as the UN chief until 2027, he said.
Guterres added that the relations between great powers are more "dysfunctional" than ever, while the prevention and mediation of conflicts have become increasingly difficult due to the complex international relations.
