At least one person was confirmed dead after powerful Hurricane Ida made a landfall in southern U.S. state Louisiana on Sunday, authorities said.
The state's Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office said a tree had fallen on a home in Prairieville. The victim, a 60-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
