China in 2020 had 955 million over-the-top (OTT) TV subscribers, said a report by the research arm of China's National Radio and Television Administration.
OTT TV offers television or film contents that viewers access with a high-speed internet connection instead of cable or satellite TV subscriptions.
China saw robust growth of revenue from online audio and video content in 2020, which contributed close to 32 percent of the total revenue of the radio and television sector, according to the report.
