Xi, Cypriot president decide to upgrade ties to strategic partnership

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades on Tuesday spoke highly of the development of China-Cyprus relations in the past 50 years, and jointly decided to upgrade the China-Cyprus relationship to a strategic partnership.

The two heads of state made the decision during a phone conversation ahead of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations.
