China will continue to raise the influence and competitiveness of independent Chinese brands and promote them into world-renowned names, government officials and industry experts said at the 2021 China Brand Forum organized by the People's Daily in Beijing on Tuesday.
A group of representatives from ministries, enterprises and research institutes attended the forum, and they focused on strengthening brand building and promoting high-quality development.
In the past few years, Chinese enterprises have strengthened their brand building awareness and a large number of famous brands have emerged. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), China will first foster a group of high-end consumer goods brands in sectors such as cosmetics, clothing and electronic products.
The vitality of Chinese brands indicates the confidence of China's sustained, stable and healthy economic development. China will create a good environment for the development of Chinese brands, further upgrade the products quality of Chinese brands, and promote them in the overseas markets, said Lyu Yansong, vice-minister of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee.
Last year, despite the negative impact due to the COVID-19 pandemic, about 75 percent of Chinese time-honored brands have achieved annual profits, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
"We will continue to promote the export of products that made by Chinese brands, help strengthen international communications between different brands, and utilize cross-border e-commerce platforms to promote domestic brands," said Ren Hongbin, China's vice-minister of commerce.
Tuo Zhen, editor-in-chief of People's Daily, said: "We will utilize our media communication advantages in different platforms, explore more stories about how Chinese enterprises have built their brand reputations, and enrich our reporting contents and promote those good examples."
Meanwhile, executives from a number of major Chinese enterprises demonstrated their achievements at the forum. Those companies include China Mobile, Agricultural Bank of China, China National Nuclear Corp, State Power Investment Corp Ltd and Chinese white spirit brand Kweichow Moutai.
