China urges U.S. to adopt rational, pragmatic policies

China hopes that the U.S. will adopt rational and pragmatic economic and trade policies toward China, said Gao Feng, spokesman of Commerce Ministry, at a news briefing on Thursday.

China encourages the U.S. side to meet China halfway and bring China-U.S. relations back to the right track of sound and stable development based on the principle of mutual respect and mutual benefit, he said.

At present, the economic and trade teams of the two sides are in normal communication, the spokesperson added.
