Annual number of China railway express Chang'an freight train surpasses 4,000

The annual number of operating the China railway express Chang'an freight train has reached 4,067 up till now, surpassing 4,000 annually for the first time since its debut in November 2013, Chinanews.com reported on Wednesday.

A total of 3.682 million tons of cargo has been delivered during the same period, including 50 containers filled with appliances such as Konka refrigerators and washing machines from Xi'an to Europe.

Konka has received an order for 50,000 dishwashers from Germany recently and the company has exported more categories of household appliances to Central Asia and Europe via the China railway express Chang'an freight train, said Chen Zhao, general manager of Shaanxi Konka Intelligent Home Appliances Co Ltd.

The role of China railway express Chang'an freight train in guiding industrial agglomeration is becoming increasingly prominent, said Wang Yundong, a Party leader of Xi'an International Trade &Logistics Park.

While enhancing Xi'an's function as a hub for China-Europe freight trains, the Xi'an International Trade &Logistics Park accelerated the construction of the "Belt and Road" harbor industrial park, introduced high-end manufacturing projects, and encouraged upstream and downstream enterprises to gather, effectively improving the industrial support capacity, Wang said.

With the aim of building the world's No 1 inland port and core hub of dual circulation, the Xi'an International Trade &Logistics Park emphasized on expanding their circle of friends in Western Europe, promoting integrated development of production and trade in the city, making Xi'an a vibrant inland highland in reform and opening-up, said Sun Yiming, director of the administrative committee of the park.
