Senior CPC official meets British diplomat

Liu Jianchao, head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, met in Beijing on Tuesday with Philip Barton, permanent under-secretary of Britain's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.

They exchanged views on strengthening party-to-party exchanges, promoting the sound and steady development of bilateral relations, and international and regional issues of common concern.
