(ECNS) -- Rural police stations in Dezhou City, east China's Shandong Province have assisted local villagers in drying their crops during the recent harvest season, receiving online applause.
With autumn harvest season approaching, local police displayed banners, proclaiming, "Welcome to dry your grains in and outside the courtyard.".
Chairs and tea were provided, while officers proactively assisted farmers in loading and unloading their crops.
When crops ripen, farmers must quickly harvest and air-dry them during limited sunny days before storing them in the granary, often leading to insufficient area for drying. As a result, many farmers have no choice but to spread their harvested grains along the road.
The timely assistance has greatly added to reducing traffic accidents along local motorways.
“They are doing very practical things for farmers,” a netizen said.
“It must be the safest place for drying crops. Police and the public are like a family," another said.
