(ECNS) - Traditional Chinese culture is on show at the press center of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Qingdao Summit, to be held in Qingdao of Shandong Province this weekend
China's intangible cultural heritage, including silhouette art, dough figurines, paper-cuts, and traditional Chinese musical instruments, were showcased at a display area.
Li Wenling, a master of Chinese paper-cutting, said folk artists have a platform to show their craft at the SCO summit and spread "Shanghai Spirit."
The artist said many of her works used patterns that incorporated traditional Chinese auspicious elements, including chrysanthemums and lotus flowers.
The press center covers 35,000 square meters and has a working zone of 10,500 square meters that can offer services to approximately 3,000 journalists. The center is also covered by high-speed WiFi and equipped with robots that can understand Chinese, English and Russian to provide information to guests.
It has 14 functional areas, including a comprehensive service area, a press release area, studios, interview spaces, meditation rooms, prayer rooms, and medical rooms, to assist both domestic and international journalists.
