(ECNS) - China's dominant ride-hailing firm Didi Chuxing said it has formed a task force to speed up cooperation with police in order to boost passenger safety.
Since Sept. 30, police investigations into cases will be further facilitated and accelerated, said the company.
It sparked outrage on social media after a 20-year-old passenger, using its Hitch service, was murdered by her Didi driver.
Didi said its new security upgrade also requires drivers to undertake random checks through facial recognition since Sept. 27.
