—Web Page for the “Junior Cultural Ambassadors” Event Officially Launched
After intensive preparations, the web page of the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation “Junior Cultural Ambassadors” Event 2021 was officially launched on October 27th, at the 100-day countdown to the Beijing Olympic Winter Games.
The web page is set up on the official website of China News (www.chinanews.com), mainly used for displaying and polling of entries that have passed preliminary review. The page also includes columns such as news and information, a display of excellent entries and award-winning works, and latest updates for the event.
The "Junior Cultural Ambassadors" Event, jointly organized by the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation and overseas China Cultural Centers, operated by the China Soong Ching Ling Science & Culture Center for Young People, sees strong support by strategic media partner - China News Service. Since the “Junior Cultural Ambassadors” Event was launched in June this year, 209 pieces of video works were submitted by Chinese and foreign teenagers from 32 countries in Asia, Europe, Africa, Oceania, North America and South America, recommended by overseas China Cultural Centers, Chinese embassies and consulates abroad, relevant domestic institutions, and foreign embassies in Beijing.
Representatives of middle school students from Yanqing District in Beijingand Chongli District in Zhangjiakou City,whichhost the Olympic Winter Games, actively participated and submitted variousentriesas special guests of the event. Students from Yanqing conducted exchanges with African students and youth representatives participatung in the 6th China-Africa Youth Festival at the ice and snow sports training center, and wrote the Chinese character 福 (blessing) together to express their good wishes for the Winter Olympic Games. They also called on friends from all over the world to engage in the Winter Olympics and join hands “together for a shared future.”
Recently, the Organizing Committee invited an expert jury, which includes Lu Shizhen, Wang Wen, Miao Lü, An Ping, Gao Xin, Zheng Qinyan, to hold a preliminary evaluation for the entries from different perspectives, such as youth education, people-to-people exchanges and news dissemination. They also comprehensively reviewed all video submissions in terms of presentation content, language expression, expressiveness and production quality. Experts spoke highly of the entries, believing that the domestic video pieces fully demonstrated the essence of China’s traditional culture, and displayed traditional Chinese medicine, calligraphy, martial arts, musical instruments and food culture from different angles and in different ways. As they said, the overseas entries were truly impressive, while teenagers expressed their respect for the long history of Chinese civilization and their blessings for the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games.
After the preliminary evaluation, a total of 100 pieces of works were shortlisted and a one-month poll will be held for the public through the web page and WeChat official account until November 27. Based on online voting results, expert opinions and all considetaration, the Organizing Committee will finally decide on the winners of “Junior Cultural Ambassadors” and related awards.

Online voting is launched at the 100-day countdown to the Beijing Olympic Winter Games. The selected “Junior Cultural Ambassadors” will have the opportunity to participate in a series of cultural exchange activities between Chinese and foreign youth.
