(ECNS) -- As one of the representative venues of the 2022 Winter Olympics, the National Ski Jumping Center has opened a green, low-carbon and sustainable path thanks to the concept of a "Green Olympics" during its construction.
Also known as "Snow Ruyi," the venue has the largest number of projects and the highest technological difficulty.
The natural landform of the venue's location closely matches competition demands in altitude and shape, so there has been minimal damage to the natural environment.
Natural lighting, ventilation, external shading, and wind power have been adopted in its construction.
Surface water collection technology was also applied to make artificial snow.
In spring, massive snow on the venue will melt and form a stream along the mountain. Through a specially designed network, the snow water will be collected into a nearby reservoir with a capacity of 200,000 cubic meters.
In addition, a honeycomb rainwater self-purification system was built underground to purify melted snow and rainwater for daily usage in surrounding venues.
