(ECNS) -- Three competition zones, including central Beijing, Yanqing and Zhangjiakou, have released their menus for the 2022 Winter Olympics.
Delicacies include three courses -- Peking Duck, Moo Shu Pork and Fried chop rice cake -- and two snacks -- Ludagun (glutinous rice rolls with sweet bean flour) and Wan Dou Huang (yellow split peas).
“We have prepared 12 different dining areas, including for Asian Food, Islamic Food, Pizza & Spaghetti, and Bread & Dessert,” says Yan Han, manager of the food service office of the Olympic Village, “In total, 678 dishes will be prepared to meet athlete demand.”
Vegetarian, halal, and kosher food will also be served.
All menus are nutritionally balanced, according to Ma Jia, Food & Beverage assistant manager of Yanqing Olympic Village.
Advanced technologies have been adopted to ensure intelligent catering: a thermodynamic image screen showing the real-time number of people, space sterilizers enabling a safe environment, intelligent robots offering consulting and guide services, and degradable forks, spoons and chopsticks made from maize straw.
During the Paralympics, more considerate services will be provided, including movable seats and menus in Braille.
