(ECNS) -- Foreigners from the United States, Russia, France, and Mali expressed their fondness for Chengdu, capital of southwest China’s Sichuan Province, during an online stand-up comedy show Wednesday evening.
The “Chengdu in the Eyes of Foreigners” comedy show was simultaneously held in Chengdu and London.
At the Globe Theatre in London, the renowned British comedian Sam Picone and Matt Rouse humorously shared their experience of Chengdu, such as tasting Sichuan cuisine, ear cleaning, and visiting famous tourist attractions likes Kuanzhai Alley.
While at the Feng Qiu Huang Theater, Mary McHugh from the U.S. shared her stories of living in Chengdu with the audience in fluent Chinese. She said she’s fond of the delicious food and relaxing lifestyle in Chengdu.
Nicolas Emile Roger Laurent, from France and living in Chengdu for 13 years, pointed out that the openness and inclusiveness of the city, along with the politeness and vitality of Chengdu residents prompted him to settle down here. He also amazed the audience by singing the famous song named “Chengdu”.
Besides, Krasnonosenko Martian from Russia and Ibrahima dit MPa Keita from Mali also shared their stories of Chengdu, showing some differences between Chengdu culture and those in their home countries.
“As a local Chengdu resident, I am so proud to know that foreigners love Chengdu so much,” said Lu Yu, an audience member. Along with many others, he wishes to participate in more activities like this in the future.
“The stand-up comedy show not only brought us happiness, but connects Chengdu with countries around the world,” added Lu.
