(ECNS) -- The International Testing Agency (ITA) said on Friday that a sample collected from Ukrainian Bobsleigh athlete Lidiia Hunko has returned an adverse analytical finding of the non-specified prohibited substance dehydrochloromethyl-testosterone metabolite.
The sample was collected by the ITA under the testing authority and results management authority of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) during an in-competition anti-doping control on Feb. 14 in Yanqing District, one of the competition zone of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games.
The athlete has been informed of the case and provisionally suspended until the resolution of the matter in line with the World Anti-Doping Code and the IOC Anti-Doping Rules applicable to the Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022. This means the athlete is prevented from competing, training, coaching, or participating in any activity during the Games.
Hunko has the right to challenge the imposition of the provisional suspension before the Court of Arbitration for Sport – Anti-Doping Division (CAS ADD) and to request the analysis of the B-sample.
Given that the case is underway, there will be no further comments during the ongoing proceeding.
