China provides majority global COVID-19 vaccines: NPC spokesperson

(ECNS) -- China has provided the most COVID-19 vaccines to the world so far, said the spokesperson for the fifth session of the 13th National People's Congress, on Friday.

China has provided more than 2.1 billion doses of COVID-19 vaccines, a third of the overall total outside China, to more than 120 countries and international organizations, Zhang Yesui said at a press conference held in Beijing.

Vaccines provided by China have helped many developing countries build up an immunological barrier, restore social normality, and boost capacity, confidence, and determination to fight the virus, Zhang added.
