(ECNS) -- The Royal Norwegian Embassy in China held an event in Beijing on Thursday to celebrate the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympics and share practices in the protection of the disabled and the promotion of social inclusiveness.
Norwegian Ambassador to China, Signe Brudeset, expressed her pride in athletes participating in the Winter Paralympics and spoke highly of the long-term cooperation in the protection of the disabled between China and Norway.
Anette Trettebergstuen, Minister of Culture and Equality of Norway, also gave a speech via video. She noted that "the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympic and Olympic Games are the greatest showcases the sporting world has to offer".
In addition, Cato Zahl Pederson, leader of the Norwegian Winter Paralympic Team, praised the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympic Organizing Committee as "successful and overwhelming", adding that they are "impressed" by " the charity of Chinese, health care, security and our well-being".
Three Chinese Paralympic athletes have shared their happiness in winning Paralympic medals and their expectations for future games. Scholars from Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Wuhan University, and Oslo Metropolitan University also gave speeches concerning accessibility facilities in China and an inclusive society.
