(ECNS) – China’s first intelligent deep-sea oil and gas storage center was put into operation on Wednesday in south China’s Hainan Province, marking the completion of infrastructure construction of the country’s deep-sea oil and gas exploration and development supply chain guarantee system.
Covering an area of about 7,000 square meters, the storage center is the largest one in the field and also world-leading in technologies, said Zhao Feng who works for the Hainan branch of China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC).
The storage center has for the first time adopted a series of innovative technologies of the industry in terms of storage standards, planning and design, equipment selection and applications development, and can support material storage and distribution for offshore oil and gas exploration and development in an all-round way.
The storage system uses advanced technologies to integrate the information of the reservoir area distribution and equipment status, and has achieved visual display with an online equal-scale three-dimensional model, according to Liu Shujie, the general designer of the Hainan branch of CNOOC.
The staff in charge of material management can monitor the storage in real time on the screen and dynamically analyze the demand of the port operation, providing data support for material distribution and purchase, Liu added.
