(ECNS) – A development and appraisal well at Bozhong 19-6 condensate gas field reached a drilling depth of 5,813 meters, marking a new record for the deepest drilling well at Bohai oilfield, China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) Tianjin Branch told China News Service on Monday.
CNOOC finished the drilling in 60 days, overcoming a series of technical problems including high temperature, high pressure, lost circulation, and high torque.
Located in East China's Bohai Bay, the Bohai oilfield is the largest crude oil production base off China's coast, producing about 30.13 million tons of crude oil last year.
