(ECNS) -- 2022 China Cross-Border E-commerce Trade Fair opened Wednesday in Fuzhou, Southeast China’s Fujian Province.
The trade fair aims to promote cross-border e-commerce trade and the upgrade of foreign trade amid the global pandemic, according to the organization committee.
China's cross-border e-commerce has surged in recent years. It has become a new driving force for the transformation and upgrade of foreign trade, a new channel for innovative development, and a new bridge for the development of the Belt and Road Initiative.
Statistics indicate that China's cross-border e-commerce import and export trade has increased nearly 10 times within five years, reaching 1.92 trillion yuan ($290 billion) last year, a year-on-year increase of 18.6 percent.
The trade fair was scheduled to open on March 18 and was postponed due to the pandemic.
Covering an area of 72,000 square meters, the fair consists of four exhibition areas, including cross-border e-commerce suppliers, cross-border e-commerce platforms, cross-border e-commerce comprehensive service providers, and a forum activity area.
It has attracted over 50 global cross-border e-commerce platforms, more than 200 leading cross-border e-commerce service providers and over 2,000 high-quality foreign trade suppliers.
Amazon Global Selling, Google, Walmart Global E-commerce, eBay, Alibaba International Station and other well-known global cross-border e-commerce companies actively participated in the event.
