(ECNS) -- China's first national-level urban gas flow metering station has been officially built in Beijing to carry out gas measurement and evaluation across the country, according to Beijing Municipal Administration for Market Regulation on Tuesday.
Built by Beijing Gas Group, the station will also carry out scientific research on energy metering technology, carbon emission reduction, intelligent monitoring of metering equipment and more.
Beijing ranks first in China and second in the world in terms of single-city gas supply. The station will improve the traceability of the real gas flow in urban areas, making the geographical distribution of real gas flow traceability more reasonable, said the authority.
While meeting the traceability needs of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, it also serves North China, Northeast China, Northwest China, East China and other regions to ensure that downstream cities and towns achieve the unification of gas traceability, along with accurate, safe, and smart measurement.
