(ECNS) -- China ranks first in the number of Wetland City Accreditations in the world, according to the country's Forestry and Grassland Administration.
The second batch of 25 cities around the world has been awarded Wetland City Accreditations, including seven cities in China, namely Hefei, Jining, Liangping, Nanchang, Panjin, Wuhan and Yancheng.
Adding to the six Chinese cities in the first batch in 2018, there are a total of 13 Chinese cities that hold the accreditation among 43 cities in the world.
The accreditation represents a city's ecological achievements. Handed out by the intergovernmental environmental treaty Ramsar Convention, the Wetland City Accreditation is an honor worldwide for the protection of urban wetland ecology.
