(ECNS) --“Daka China: Exploring Magnificent Landmarks,” an event aiming to show visitors a beautiful and flourishing China, held its opening ceremony at its first station Ordos in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on Monday.
Internet celebrities and media staff from countries including the UK, Thailand, Brazil, South Korea, Italy, and Guatemala have been invited to Ordos, trying to show netizens the unique charm and demonstrate the true, good and beautiful Inner Mongolia.
Tamar Kvlividze from Georgia addressed the opening ceremony as the representative of foreign internet celebrities.
“One of the most remarkable features of China is its diversity,” said Kvlividze, who has travelled about half of China’s territory.
“I hope that people from all over the world can learn about a different and new China,” Kvlividze added.
“Ordos is an amazing city with unique areas, like Kangbashi with beautiful architecture and powerful music, and it is a perfect place for summer,” said Evangelia Papazi from Greece.
“Ordos is more developed than I thought,” said Celia Judith del Rosario Esquivel Salguero from Guatemala.
Ordos, whose name means “numerous palaces” in Mongolian, is located in the southwest of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
The city is rich in resources and has more than 50 types of proven mineral deposits, and it is a vital energy base of China. The local forest coverage rate is 24.7 percent, with three national nature reserves and eight autonomous region-level nature reserves.
