FuYan, the mascot for the 2022 China International Fair for Trade in Services
(ECNS) -- FuYan, the mascot for the 2022 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), was unveiled Tuesday at the National Convention Center in Beijing.
In Chinese, FuYan is a homonym for “attending a feast."
Under the theme of “Global Services, Shared Prosperity,” the mascot indicates that the development of trade in services will benefit the world.
The image of "FuYan" draws its inspiration from Beijing swifts.
First, the swifts have witnessed Beijing's historical changes since they started nesting in the city hundreds of years ago.
Second, the journey of the bird is incredible. They depart from Beijing around August every year and return in March the following year, flying over 37 countries with a round trip of nearly 30,000 kilometers. The brave and unrelenting bird symbolizes that the CIFTIS aims to promote international communication and the tenacious spirit of moving forward.
Third, the swift is a symbol of auspiciousness, conveying that the CIFTIS will be successfully held.
Fourth, the swift flies fast, which symbolizes the rapid development of the CIFTIS in the new era of the service economy.
The 2022 CIFTIS is scheduled to be held at the China National Convention Center and Shougang Park in Beijing from August 31 to September 5, under the theme of "Cooperate for Better Development, Innovate for a Greener Future."
