China has 5,772 museums by the end of 2021: official

(ECNS)-- By the end of 2021, China owned 5,772 museums nationwide, an increase of 88 percent from 3,069 in 2012, while pieces of collections rose to 46.65 million from 23.18 million in 2012, said the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

In 2021, there were 31,931 exhibitions in the museums across the country, an increase of 58.7 percent over 2012.

The number of visitors hit 748.5045 million, an increase of 32.7 percent over 2012.
