(ECNS) -- Major e-commerce platforms in China recently have kicked off presales for the Double 11 shopping festival, China's biggest annual online shopping spree that officially falls on November 11 each year, eyeing more consumer-friendly rules.
This year, both presales and sales on the e-commerce platforms will start at 8 pm on the day, freeing consumers from staying up too late.
In terms of discounts, the brain-burning calculations before were replaced with much easier rules, with a 50-yuan ($6.84) discount for every 299 yuan a consumer pays on JD.com and a 50-yuan discount for every 300 yuan on Tmall.
The e-commerce platforms also developed convenient functions on their apps.
For example, placing orders with multi addresses is allowed, enabling consumers to club together and share discounts.
In addition, some platforms have expanded the upper limit of a user's shopping cart from 120 items to 300.
Price protection policy and refund of the price difference policy also become normal services.
The platforms will provide more green and low-carbon products to boost green consumption.
