(ECNS) -- China will impose consumption tax on e-cigarettes from Nov. 1, according to a notice jointly published by the Ministry of Finance, the General Administration of Customs, and the General Administration of Taxation on Tuesday.
According to the notice, a tax rate of 36 percent will be imposed on production or import of e-cigarettes, while an 11 percent tax will be imposed on the wholesale distribution of e-cigarettes.
Taxpayers who export e-cigarettes are suitable for tax refund or exemption policies.
