(ECNS) -- Customs statistics show China's total value of import and export in 2022 reached 42.07 trillion yuan($6.26 trillion), an increase of 7.7 percent over 2021, said Lv Daliang, spokesperson of the General Administration of Customs on Friday.
Among them, the export value was 23.97 trillion yuan, an increase of 10.5 percent; the import value was 18.1 trillion yuan, an increase of 4.3 percent.
This is the first time that the total import and export value has exceeded 40 trillion yuan, which marked a steady growth, and China maintained its status in the world's first goods trader for 6 consecutive years, Lv said.
China's economy is expected to recover overall this year, he added.
