(ECNS) -- A group of tourists departed from Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport in South China's Guangdong Province at midnight on Monday for the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, etc, which is among the first six tourist groups, composed of nearly 160 people, in Guangzhou as well as the first batch of outbound group travelers in the Chinese mainland on the starting day of the country's outbound group travel service.
A local travel agency organized the first outbound tourist group heading to the UAE for six days and Egypt for 10 days. About 80 percent of these tourists are retired, and the oldest is 80 years old.
The Guangzhou outbound tourism market has introduced tourist products in Southeast Asia such as Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia, as well as tourist products in Russia, UAE, New Zealand and other places, local authorities reported.
According to insiders, reception links like international flights, tourist vehicles, restaurants, and tour guide services are in recovering stage. It is expected that starting in March this year, the number of outbound group products and tourists would surge.
