(ECNS) -- The first batch of completely driverless vehicles has been approved for road tests in certain routes and specific periods in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Area.
The fully unmanned autonomous driving vehicles are different from the previous ones tested on the road, as the safety officers completely withdrew from the vehicles and remotely ensured the safety of the vehicle. In case of sudden incidents, the safety officer can assist the vehicle in safe driving remotely.
The vehicle is equipped with two laser radars, and the body is covered with 13 sets of cameras and five millimeter-wave radars to cope with more complex road conditions.
