Chinese FM welcomes Honduras president's statement on seeking diplomatic ties with China

(ECNS) -- "We welcome the statement by President of Honduras Xiomara Castro. The fact that 181 countries in the world have established diplomatic relations with China on the basis of the One-China principle fully demonstrates that establishing diplomatic relations with China is the right choice that accords with the trend of history and our times," Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said on Wednesday.

Honduran President said on Tuesday that she had asked the country's foreign minister to officially establish relations with China.

"China is willing to develop friendly and cooperative relations with all countries in the world, including Honduras, on the basis of the One-China principle," Wang said at a regular press conference.
