(ECNS)-- To politicize, instrumentalize and weaponize trade and tech issues and destabilize the global industrial and supply chains will benefit no one and will eventually backfire, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said on Friday.
Mao's comment came after the Japanese government said on Friday that it plans to restrict exports of 23 types of semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
According to media reports, although relevant document did not specify China or any country, analysts say that Japan is aligning its technology trade controls with a U.S. push to curb China’s ability to make advanced chips.
Mao said the global semiconductor industrial and supply chains are shaped by the laws of market dynamics and the choices of businesses.
